Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

Carey’s Piano Lesson (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates this website to share information about our piano lessons in Wendell, Idaho and to let visitors get in touch about scheduling. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We collect information in two ways:

  • Information you provide directly — when you fill out our inquiry form, we collect your name, the student’s name (if different), email address, phone number, student age group, experience level, preferred lesson days/times, and anything you choose to write in the message field.
  • Information collected automatically — like most websites, our hosting provider may log basic technical information such as browser type, device type, and pages visited, for security and site-performance purposes. We do not use this information to identify individual visitors.
How we use your information
  • To respond to your lesson inquiry and follow up about scheduling.
  • To communicate with you about an ongoing lesson arrangement, including scheduling changes or billing.
  • To improve how we run the studio and this website.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising purposes.

Who we share it with

We do not share your information with third parties except:

  • Service providers that help us operate the site or communicate with you (for example, our email or website hosting provider), who are only permitted to use it to provide that service.
  • If required to do so by law, or to protect the safety of a student, our family, or the public.
Third-party content on this site

This site includes an embedded Google Map and a link to our Facebook page. If you interact with these, Google or Meta (Facebook’s parent company) may collect information according to their own privacy policies, which we don’t control. We encourage you to review those policies if you have concerns.

Children’s privacy

This website is intended for parents, guardians, and adult students — not for children to use directly. If you’re a parent or guardian submitting a student’s information through our form, you’re confirming you have the authority to do so on their behalf.

Data retention

We keep inquiry information for as long as it’s useful for scheduling and communicating with you — generally for the duration of any lesson relationship, plus a reasonable period afterward. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time (see below).

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us, but no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the information we hold about you at any time by emailing careyreitsma@gmail.com or calling +1 (208) 316-0135.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of this site after changes means you accept the updated policy.

Terms of Use

Last updated: August 2026

These terms govern your use of this website. By browsing this site or submitting our inquiry form, you agree to the following.

Purpose of this site

This website is provided to share information about Carey’s Piano Lesson, describe our lesson offerings and pricing, and allow visitors to reach out about scheduling piano lessons. It is not intended for any other commercial use.

Intellectual property

All content on this site — including text, graphics, our logo, and layout — belongs to Carey’s Piano Lesson unless otherwise noted, and may not be copied, reproduced, or used elsewhere without our written permission.

Lesson inquiries are not a booking

Submitting the contact form is an inquiry, not a confirmed reservation. A lesson spot is only confirmed once Carey has followed up directly and you’ve agreed on a schedule together.

Accuracy of information

We work to keep the information on this site — including pricing, availability, and contact details — accurate and current. However, details can change, and we recommend confirming current pricing and availability directly with Carey before making plans around them.

Acceptable use

When using this site or our contact form, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about yourself and/or your student.
  • Not use the form to send spam, unrelated solicitations, or abusive messages.
  • Not attempt to interfere with the site’s normal operation or security.
Third-party links

This site links to or embeds content from third-party platforms, including Facebook and Google Maps. We aren’t responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of those external sites.

Limitation of liability

This website and its content are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Carey’s Piano Lesson is not liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent version. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Disclaimer

Last updated: August 2026

Please read this disclaimer carefully before relying on the information provided on this website or enrolling in lessons with Carey’s Piano Lesson.

General information only

The content on this site — including descriptions of our lesson programs, pricing, and teaching approach — is provided for general informational purposes about piano lessons offered in Wendell, Idaho. It’s not a substitute for a direct conversation with Carey about your or your student’s specific goals and needs.

No guaranteed outcomes

Learning piano is a personal process, and progress depends on many factors — including practice time, age, prior experience, and individual learning pace. We do not and cannot guarantee specific results, skill levels, exam outcomes, or timelines for any student.

Minors

Students under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian arrange lessons on their behalf, remain informed of scheduling, and be reasonably available during lesson times as needed. Parents/guardians are responsible for their student’s transportation to and from lessons and for informing Carey of any relevant medical, behavioral, or accessibility needs in advance.

Scheduling, pricing & cancellations

Lesson pricing, scheduling, and cancellation terms are ultimately set directly between Carey and the student or parent/guardian, and may be adjusted over time. The pricing and policies shown on this site reflect current standard rates and are subject to change without prior notice to the website; please confirm current terms directly with Carey.

In-person lesson participation

Piano lessons take place in person at Carey’s home studio. As with any in-person activity, normal precautions apply (for example, safe transportation to and from the studio and following any household guidelines communicated at the studio). Carey is not responsible for incidents arising from circumstances outside her reasonable control.

Third-party content

This site may include links to, or embedded content from, third-party platforms such as Facebook or Google Maps. We don’t control and aren’t responsible for the accuracy, availability, or practices of that third-party content.

Errors & omissions

While we make reasonable efforts to keep this site accurate and up to date, we don’t warrant that all content is complete, current, or error-free, and we’re not liable for any loss or inconvenience resulting from reliance on it.

Questions

If anything on this site is unclear, the best next step is always to reach out directly — email careyreitsma@gmail.com or call +1 (208) 316-0135.
